Fine, fine.
Everything’s fine.

Honest conversations for mums who are also carers

So, how are you really?

“I’m fine.”

You know the origin of the word fine? It’s from the french, finis. It literally means ‘limit’. So you’re not really lying when you say that. Because right around the time you officially added the word ‘carer’ to your parenting CV, your ‘limit’ got a demotion and became your new baseline.

And while there are well over a quarter of a million other Aussie mothers living on the outskirts of sanity town, somehow many of us end up feeling like the last woman on earth.

Until we find just one other person. Someone who knows “fine” means “My nervous system’s shot and I’ve forgotten what it’s like to not feel like I’m having a panic attack”.

Well we’re here to be that someone. Someones, actually. We’re a bit of a two-for deal. (And who doesn’t love a bargain?)

So, yeah. We’re Carrie and Kim. Hosts of Fine, fine. Everything’s fine – a podcast for mums who are also carers.

Not because we have the answers.

But because sometimes the most powerful thing you can hear is someone else saying, “OMG right? Been there. Got the stain out of THAT t-shirt.”

Why, exactly, would you listen to us?

Besties since Val Kilmer was Batman, we’re a couple of Cancerian Roxette tragics who somehow found ourselves raising six kids between us, many of whom have additional needs.

We’re not doctors.
We’re not therapists.
Definitely not experts.

What we do know is that laughter is a natural painkiller and stories have healing powers, so these are the chats we wish we could have tuned into on the days when everything definitely wasn’t fine.
